  • Eligibility: Any Alberta business can apply—no nomination required!
  • Anonymity Requirement: Please complete your submission anonymously by avoiding the use of your company name within your application materials.

General Eligibility Requirements

To be a valid entry in the Alberta Business Awards of Distinction, your business must:

  • Be operational in Alberta for a minimum of 3 fiscal years, unless otherwise stated.
  • Be operating in Alberta at the time of nomination and at the time of the awards presentation.
  • Employ Albertans to produce goods and/or provide services.
  • Not have won in the same category in the past three years.
  • Not have anyone in your management, board, or employ serving on the Alberta Business Awards of Distinction judging committee for the category.
  • If you are a non-profit organization, no more than 30% of annual revenue can be directly funded by government envelopes ~ Non-profits must submit evidence of funding via email to sknorr@abchamber.ca at the time of application. (NOTE: this does not apply to regular procurement).

These requirements are in addition to any award-specific eligibility criteria.

How to Apply

  1. Create Your Member Account
    • Click here to access the "Create Account" form. Provide your name, contact details, email, and password, and you're ready to go!
    • Once you sign up, you'll automatically be logged in to start your application.
  2. Start Your Entry
    • Log in to your account and select "Start a New Entry".
    • Choose your award category, name your entry your organization name as the Title, and click "Start."
      • You may choose any award category you believe to be the best fit for your organization.
      • This is the only section that you may include your organization name. The system will automatically anonymize it for the judging process. 
    • A form will load with everything you need to know to complete your submission.
      • Do not include your organization name anywhere in the form. 
  3. Save and Edit
    • Save your entries as you work on them. You can edit submissions until the 11:59pm, April 1, 2025 deadline.
    • After the deadline, entries can only be viewed, not edited.
  4. Submit Accurately and Anonymously
    • Avoid including your organization name in your submission to maintain anonymity. Ensure all materials are accurate, as details provided will be used exactly as submitted for the award ceremony, media recognition, and presentations.

Application Deadline

After the 11:59pm, April 1, 2025 deadline, Alberta Chambers reserves the right to extend the deadline for a specific category and solicit additional entries if there are fewer than three entries from a minimum of two companies in the category in question.

Final Notes

  • The Alberta Chambers reserves the right to disqualify incomplete submissions without notice.
  • Alberta Chambers reserves the right to realign categories due to volume of entries. Entrants will be notified if this occurs.
  • If there are fewer than two entries in any category, Alberta Chambers reserves the right to eliminate that category from the competition.
  • Your account is protected by industry-leading 4096-bit encryption, and the entire system is backed up daily.
  • All entrants agree to be bound by these rules.
